I began my career as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS, working with people with mental and physical health difficulties, primarily using a cognitive behavioural therapy approach. I had to stop working when I developed M.E. or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (C.F.S.). Discovering Positive Psychology was a major factor in aiding my recovery and helping me live well with residual health issues. I retrained, doing a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology, a Positive Psychology Coaching course and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy training. I completed my full return to clinical practice registration in 2022. I now seek to help people find ways to flourish in their lives whatever circumstances they find themselves facing.
As well as my clinical psychology experience, I have had a number of voluntary roles in the community, including working as a bereavement counsellor for CRUSE, running a support group for parents of children with behavioural issues, Chair of a Welfare Charity and acting as a wellbeing mentor at Enham Trust, a charity which supports people with disabilities. I have been coaching since 2017 and running All Weather Wellbeing since 2020. I received my HCPC return to practice accreditation for Clinical Psychology in 2022.
I am far from perfect, but I try to use Positive Psychology and ACT techniques in my own life as much as possible and believe that my personal struggles have helped make me an accepting, warm and empathic therapist and coach. I am keen to see if I can help you.
I am based in Whitchurch, Hampshire, and am able to see people in a rented office with a beautiful location close to the River Test. Free parking is available. Video-conferencing consultations are also available or for other possibilities (such as home visits) please contact me to discuss your needs.
